is the manual still used by Burt Rutan and Scaled
Composites to train new employees. It was originally
written as a construction guide for Vari-Eze,
Long-Eze, and Solitaire builders. This oversized
manual is high on technique and low on theory.
We highly recommend it. For anyone considering
working with composites, this is the first thing
you should have.

the Introduction:
This
booklet is intended to give a complete education on the use of
materials for building a glass/foam/glass aircraft structure without
molds. These are the structural methods and materials used in
building the Long-Eze and Solitaire aircraft. It should be clarified
that this booklet covers the use of the materials, not
the design theory of composite structures which is an involved
engineering discipline beyond the scope of this manual.
