Auto Engines for Experimental Aircraft
by Richard Finch, 1998
160 pages $19.95
|
This
is the first book for anyone considering the installation
of an automobile engine in a homebuilt aircraft.
Richard Finch details the benefits and challenges
of the many available choices of alternative engine
installations. Every aspect is discussed including
engine choices, drive units, exhaust, ignition,
fuel metering, cooling, cowls, props, performance
modifications, and testing.
Although
this book should not be considered as an installation
guide to any particular engine, it will give you
what you need to know in order to decide if an
alternative engine is how you want to proceed,
and then if so, which one of many is right for
your particular aircraft. Highly illustrated and
well organized. This is our favorite of the basic
auto installation books available.

Rating ** out of *****
A
very one-sided view compared to "Alternative Engines"
which has many peoples opinions. Of the two, I found "Alternative
Engines" MUCH more valuable.
